AALS Statements Of Good Practices For Faculty Recruitment, Hiring, Retention, And Resignation
The AALS has adopted these Statements of Good Practices for AALS membership, law faculty and other law school practices:
- Recruitment and Hiring of Entry-Level Faculty Members [Amended May 11, 2023]
- Recruitment and Retention of Minority Law Faculty Members [Amended May 11, 2023]
- Recruitment of and Resignation by Full-time Faculty Members [Amended February 25, 2019]
- Law Professors in the Discharge of Their Ethical and Professional Responsibilities [Amended May 24, 2024]

Because I've been working with Chicago alums and fellows on the teaching market since 2008 (and doing the same at UT Austin before that), I've been witness to the changing timetable since the pandemic killed the "meat market" in Washington, DC (thank goodness!) and Zoom took over.
