Judge Rejects Attempt By Students And Alumni To Block Closure Of Golden Gate Law School

Reuters, Students Fighting California Law School Closure Face Court Setback:

Golden Gate Logo (2023)California's Golden Gate University School of Law will not be forced to reopen this fall—at least not yet.

A state judge in San Francisco on Tuesday dismissed a lawsuit brought by Golden Gate students and alumni seeking to stop its impending closure and denied their request for an injunction that would keep the school open for the fast approaching fall semester.

Judge Richard Ulmer ruled that the plaintiffs had not sufficiently backed up their claims but said they can file an amended complaint in the lawsuit, which accused Golden Gate of violating its obligations to students.

Attorney Ryan Griffith, a Golden Gate Law alum who is representing the plaintiffs, said the ruling would not halt their efforts to keep the 123-year-old San Francisco law school open. ...
Griffith said he plans to file an amended complaint this week and would again ask for an injunction.
