ABA ‘Urges’ Law Schools To Permit Paid Externships And Encourage Pay Transparency In OCI
The ABA House of Delegates approved two legal education resolutions on Monday:
Resolution 514 (Report to the House of Delegates):
RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges law schools to allow students to receive both monetary compensation and course credit for field placements; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges legal employers to consider adding monetary compensation for field placements for which students are also receiving course credit.
Resolution 515 (Report to the House of Delegates):
RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges law schools to encourage pay transparency during the On-Campus Interview process; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association urges legal employers to engage in pay transparency during the On-Campus Interview process.
