90% Through Fall 2024 Law School Admissions Season: Applicants Are Up +5%

We are now 90% of the way through Fall 2024 law school admissions season. The number of law school applicants reported by LSAC is up 5.0% compared to last year at this time:

LSAC 1-7

114 of the 196 law schools are experiencing an increase in applications. Applications are up +10% or more at 61 law schools:

LSAC 2-7

Applicants are up in all regions and are up the most in Other (+22.6%), Mountain West (+8.4%), and Far West (+5.2%): 

LSAC 3-7

Applicants' LSAT scores are down -2.1% in the 170-180 band, up +5.1% in the 160-169 band, up + 3.9% in the 150-159 band, and up + 0.4% in the 120-149 band:

LSAC 4-7

Applicants are up in all ethnic group: Not Indicated +15.5%, Hawaiian|Other Pacific Islander +13.8%, Hispanic|Latino +8.7%, Asian +6.8%, Black|African American +6.6%, American Indian|Alaska Native +6.5%, Caucasian|White +2.8%, and Puerto Rican +1.1%:

LSAC 5-7

Applicants in all gender groups are up: Not Indicated +6.2%, Women +6.2%, Men +3.4%, and Gender Diverse +2.0%:

LSAC 6-7

First Generation College Student applicants are up +3.1%:
