ABA Finds George Mason Law School Back In Compliance With Financial Resources Accreditation Standard

Following up on my previous post, ABA Finds George Mason Out Of Compliance With Accreditation Standard That Requires Law Schools To Have Sufficient Financial Resources:  Law.com, GMU Law Back in Compliance With ABA:

George Mason Scalia (2020)The American Bar Association has determined that George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School is back in compliance with regard to its financial resources.

The Council of the ABA’s Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar found that GMU Law was significantly out of compliance with Standard 202, which governs financial resources, in November, according to the Dec. 6 notice.

At its February meeting, the council concluded that the information provided by the law school is sufficient to demonstrate compliance with Standard 202(a), according to the ABA notice posted [last] week.

Standard 202 states that the “current and anticipated financial resources available to the law school shall be sufficient for it to operate in compliance with the standards and to carry out its program of legal education.”

Interpretation 202-1, “Resources generated by the law school,” includes law school tuition and fees generated by the law school, appropriated support, endowment income, gifts to the law school, and any other revenue generated by the law school, such as revenue from grants, contracts and property.
