Texas Tech Seeks To Hire A Clinical Tax Professor

Texas Tech Law Faculty Posting:

Texas Tech is looking to hire a new Director for its Low Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) here in Lubbock, TX, with a start date of August 1, 2023 (or earlier). Applications are due March 17th.  I want to highlight three aspects of the position that I think are noteworthy:

1. Staff support.  Our director does not bear the entire burden of annual grant reporting and application.  We have an amazing paralegal here who shoulders most of that responsibility.

2. Faculty support.  All our clinics and clinical faculty (including our LITC) are a highly valued part of our law school and play important roles in law school governance and operation.  They have good office space, and clinical faculty are all either on tenure tracks or on long-term contract tracks consistent with ABA Standard 405(c).  The LITC director will be in the latter category. 

3. Career Support.  One of the aspects of Tech Law that I have found most attractive is a culture of genuine support within the faculty.  We have traditionally taken a very broad view as to what adds value to the Law School.  As a result there is a huge diversity in how different faculty have shaped their careers here.
