Weekly Legal Education Roundup

Comment: Congratulations to FIU and its bar prep and academic support staff (Raul Ruiz and Louis N. Schulze) for attaining the highest bar pass rate for first-time takers on the Florida July bar exam for the 7th year in a row!  This is a remarkable record, and it demonstrates that law schools can attain bar exam success with hard work and the right approach.  FIU is a majority minority school with a 2020 makeup of 330 minority students out of a total of 509.  As I said in 2013 (How to Help Students from Disadvantaged Backgrounds Succeed in Law School), minorities can pass the bar if a school uses the proper teaching techniques based on cognitive science.
