October 2020 California Bar Exam Results For Out-Of-State Law Schools

CA state bar logo PNGThe state bar has released a report for the October 2020 bar exam. Overall, 60.4% of all applicants passed the California bar exam. Among graduates of ABA-accredited law schools, first-time takers from in-state law schools passed at a higher rate (84%) than students from out-of-state law schools (78%).

Out-of-state law schools with the highest pass rates:
Virginia: 100% (26 students took the exam)
Yale: 100% (22)
Duke: 100% (21)
Notre Dame: 100% (16)
Vanderbilt: 100% (11)
Michigan: 96.8% (31)
Chicago: 96.3% (27)
NYU: 96.3% (27)
Harvard: 95.5% (89)
Texas: 94.1% (17)
Georgetown: 91.1% (56) 
Columbia: 90.9% (44)
Penn: 90.9% (22)
George Washington: 89.3% (28)
Northwestern-Pritzker: 88.0% (25)
Cornell: 87.5% (16)
Washington University: 84.0% (25)
University of Washington: 82.4% (17)

Out-of-state law schools with the lowest pass rates:

Howard: 41.7% (12)
UNLV: 42.9% (14)
Tulane: 46.7% (15)
American: 60.0% (15)
Emory: 60.0% (15)
