ABA Finds Western New England Law School In Compliance With Accreditation Standards
Following up on my previous post, ABA Finds Western New England Law School Out Of Compliance With Accreditation Standard: Council, ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, Notice of Law School's Demonstrating Compliance With Standard 202(a) and (d): Western New England University School of Law:
At its November 21-23, 2019, meeting, the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the American Bar Association (the “Council”) considered the status of the Western New England University School of Law (the “Law School”) regarding its noncompliance with Standard 202(a) and (d).
Following consideration of the record in the matter and the Law School’s response to the Council’s August 2019 Decision Letter, the Council concluded that the information provided by the Law School is sufficient to demonstrate compliance with Standard 202(a) and (d). Accordingly, the Rule 13(a)(2) hearing is cancelled in accordance with Rule 20(d). Western New England University School of Law remains an approved law school.
Standard 202. RESOURCES FOR PROGRAM:
(a) The current and anticipated financial resources available to the law school shall be sufficient for it to operate in compliance with the Standards and to carry out its program of legal education. ...
(d) A law school is not in compliance with the Standards if its anticipated financial condition is reasonably expected to have a negative and material effect on the school’s ability to operate in compliance with the Standards or to carry out its program of legal education.
