Here are the results of the July 2019 Massachusetts Bar Exam Results for first-time test-takers by law school, along with each school's U.S. News ranking:

A total of 1,377 examinees sat for the July 2019 bar examination, of whom 985 (71.5%) passed. There were 1151 first time takers, of whom 939 (81.6%) passed the exam.

1) Only 71% passed? Wow. It was not so long ago that the percentage was in the 85% to 90% range.

2) I also remember that when Southern New England School of Law was gifted to UMass, there was all sorts of howling outrage about how the school was subpar and shouldn't be accredited (it was not ABA-accredited at the time) and their grads weren't good enough to pass the bar, etc. And here they are outperforming (and not for the first time) half of the long-established MA law schools. There is great need for an affordable public law school in Massachusetts. There is not so much need for the bottom 4-5 private law schools that produce nought but big debt and bad outcomes.
