Pepperdine Hosts International Conference For Dispute Resolution Teachers, Scholars, And Leaders
The Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine Law School, ranked #1 by U.S. News & World Report for 13 of the past 15th years, will host a landmark conference on June 18-19, 2019: Appreciating Our Legacy and Engaging the Future: An International Conference for Dispute Resolution Teachers, Scholars, and Leaders. Participants will compare perspectives on four decades of change in managing and resolving conflict.
The Co-Chairs of the Conference are:
- Tom Stipanowich (Associate Dean, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, William H. Webster Chair in Dispute Resolution and Professor of Law, Pepperdine Law School)
- Sukhsimranjit Singh (Managing Director and Director of the LL.M. Program, Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, and Assistant Professor of Law and Practice, Pepperdine Law School)
- Nancy Welsh (Director, Aggie Dispute Resolution Program and Professor of Law at Texas A&M Law School)
Interactive sessions will explore:
- Balancing skills, law, ethics, and policy in the classroom
- Integrating practitioners into our courses, research, and programs
- Mediation and dispute resolution clinics and public service
- Initiatives aimed at bridging the societal divide
