Weekly Legal Education Roundup

  • Jeremiah A. Ho (UMass), Law as Instrumentality
  • Law of unintended consequences: New York Law Journal, NYSBA to Study if Move to Uniform Bar Exam Led to a Rise in Lawyers Unprepared to Practice demonstrates the law of unintended consequences.  New York has adopted the Uniform Bar Exam.  New York practice obviously is not on the Uniform Bar Exam.   Consequently, fewer students are taking New York practice courses in law school.  Therefore, new lawyers are less prepared to practice in New York courts than they were in the past.
