- Bogus Refunds & Bad Penalties: The Feckless and Fixable Refund Penalty System, 48 Akron L. Rev. ___ (2015)
- Improperly Burdened: The Uncertain and Sometimes Unfair Application of Tax Penalties (2015)
From Del:
While at Valpo, David Herzig and I increased the number of students pursuing Tax LLMs at the top programs to over 257% of the national average (almost all of the students attended either NYU, Georgetown, Northwestern or Boston University). No less than one third of those students were women, and in the last three classes, over 40% were underrepresented minorities. At UMKC, I will be focusing on entrepreneurship, finance and, of course, tax. Prior to joining the faculty at Valparaiso, I served as a Trial Attorney with the Department of Justice Tax Division, an associate at Skadden Arps, and as an investment banker structuring derivatives at Bank of America.
