The IRS Scandal, Day 907
Breitbart, Sen. Tim Scott: IRS Has ‘Created a Culture of Discrimination’:
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) appeared on Saturday’s “America’s News HQ” on Fox News Channel, talking about the IRS scandal, saying the IRS has “created a culture of discrimination.”
Scott said people would “challenge the system immediately” if the scandal was over racial discrimination rather than discrimination over conservative groups.
“It’s very important for us to restore confidence in the IRS,” he said. “I was very frustrated with the fact that we continue to see people targeted. And imagine if this was racial targeting. We would explode with amazement and challenge the system immediately. We’ve had no such challenge in the IRS.”

There is no proof that the IRS has targeted anybody, just that they had a difficult time applying the 501(c)(4) regs after Citizens United.

If the IRS's abuse of Americans was racial instead of political ideology, there is not a doubt in my mind that the DOJ's Equal Rights Division would have insisted this abuse was racial discrimination.

Scott is wrong. People would not, do not, care that the IRS picked targets for persecution based n race. Jewish groups were also targeted. This received no coverage in the media and the people who claim the mantle of racial champions are engaged in a nationwide racist effort against Jews, the BDS movement.

Mr. Bittman: DOJ does not have an Equal Rights Division. It's the Civil Rights Division. And yes, if the IRS assessed and collected taxes based on race, I am pretty sure the Civil Rights Division and the Tax Division would take notice. In fact, back in the Nixon Administration, there was this thing about Bob Jones University. I remember.
