Tax Prof Baby
I am delighted to publicly welcome Rhema ("ray-ma"), daughter of my dear Pepperdine friend and tax colleague Khrista Johnson and her husband Alton. Rhema was born on August 8 and checked in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
Khrista explains the origins of the name Rhema:
We learned of the Greek word (rhema) from a Bono interview in the LA Times. Bono said U2 was going back into their older catalogue of songs and it was "like rhema" - specifically, "in the scriptures, it's the living word." "Logos" (greek) is the written word of God, and "rhema" (greek) is the term referring to the spoken - or utterance of God. We pray that Rhema will have God's rhema with her always :-)
Photos of Khrista's baby shower are here.
