I guess all the folks mad about who Obama meets with didnt mind when VP Cheney wouldn't tell anyone why or who from oil companies met with him, more than once, at the White House. Or why he never completely severed ties with Halluburton and other companies he may have made money off of when they got no-bid contracts from the US military. Seems even those who would say Iran Contra under Reagan was legal are the same that would say it was illegal under Obama. It's humorous how hard conservatives always try to make something out of nothing. It must be part if the victim ideology. Sad and scary. It's no wonder so many Americans are too stupid to know the truth and willing to food blindlessly. I believe it was one of Hitlets top aides that used the same strategy: “Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.” ~ Hermann Göring, Nazi Reichmarshall and Luftwaffe-Chief, one of the highest-ranking Nazis who survived to be captured and put on trial for war crimes in the city of Nuremberg

Here are some interesting FACTS for those who want both sides of the story:

"Of 300 groups flagged by Cincinnati IRS, only 100 were tea party groups, other two-thirds flagged were Liberal groups"(http://dighton.m.wickedlocal.com/wkdDighton/pm_121725/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=WfQ0vcv9)

IRS Scrutinized Some Liberal Groups (http://www.politico.com/story/2013/07/irs-scrutinized-liberal-groups-94556.html)

Here's how Darrell Issa manufactured the IRS 'scandal':
Jun 26, 2013 - "On Monday, we learned that the IRS didn't single out tea party groups after all. Instead, they were looking for political groups, including not just tea party groups, but progressive groups as well. They may have used a flawed method for flagging the groups, but the IRS's intent was clear: to identify political groups that were not legally entitled to receive the tax-exempt benefit they sought to receive. That pretty much brought the IRS "scandal" to a screeching halt." (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/06/26/1219172/-Here-s-how-Darrell-Issa-manufactured-the-IRS-scandal)

When the IRS targeted liberals May 14, 2013 - "Under George W. Bush, it went after the NAACP, Greenpeace and even a liberal ..."

Liberal groups received same IRS letter that ignited Tea Party outrage May 15, 2013
"... liberal groups were targeted as well, and in fact the only group to have its application denied was a liberal group." (http://www.dailykos.com/story/2013/05/15/1209257/-Liberal-groups-received-same-IRS-letter-that-ignited-Tea-Party-nbsp-outrage)

"Yesterday, we learned that the IRS wasn't just scanning for the phrase "tea party" when it reviewed applications for tax-exempt non-profit status, it was also scanning for words like "progressive" and "Occupy." With that revelation, weeks of concern trolling from Republicans claiming that conservatives were targeted while liberals weren't vanished in a puff of smoke." Thank you TaxProf! Wish we had the same level of care and detailed knowledge applied to more parts of the federal leviathan!

If only Obama had as much dedication to fixing the economy as the TaxProf has to collecting these links every day...

Great work, keep it up.

Wow - What a roundup. Thanks for keeping on top of this Professor Caron!

THANK YOU for your efforts everyday in posting these links.
For over a year I did morning news links like this and I know how time consuming they can be.

This is a very important scandal, if not the most important scandal, and its coverage is paramount. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Prof. Caron,
Thanks for the work you do on this blog -- on the scandal as well as on all the other tax stuff.
You seem to have changed your picture. The new photo looks very normal and ungeeky. The old photo could very easily be identified as the photo of a guy with a tax law blog.

Thank goodness someone still has their eye on the ball on this, the scariest in my opinion, of scandals perpetrated by this administration.

Paul, John Thomason hit the nail on the head. It certainly appears that you are trying to keep this (non)story alive. Citing the Don May blog post from the Lubbock Avalanche Journal yesterday was ridiculous.

Thank you for this blog. You are doing God's work.

Thanks for this terrific ongoing coverage.

We are all in your debt.

Thanks for your continued effort to keep this story alive. The administration's repeated failure to answer relevant questions is disgraceful.

Good work keeping the list.

The only reason the most hated agency in the US has not been pilloried yet is because they are all in on the fix. Each and every one of those crooks.

Thank you Professor for keeping ttrack of all this. It is appreciated. I can't imagine how much time it must take you, but it is so important.
