I have made the considerably shorter trek from Malibu to San Diego for my tenth summer teaching Tax I at the University of San Diego School of Law, my fifth as the Herzog Summer Visiting Professor in Taxation. San Diego is truly America's Finest City, with spectacular weather, natural beauty, and a dizzying array of things to do. But what is even more enjoyable is renewing acquaintances with the many friends we have made over the years here (not to mention partaking in the world's best pizza and hamburgers).

Paul, I don't understand how you stay that thin eating pizza and hamburgers! I'd expect you to be grazing on an alfafa sprout sandwich or something.

I would say that eating a hamburger on the beach in SD makes it taste a little better.

Prof. Caron, have you ever visited NYC? Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, or Denver? San Diego is a nice place, with benign weather and nice scenery, but the best pizza and hamburgers? I don't think so.
