Tax Accountants to Get Biggest 2010 Raise

In a recent look at the IT and finance industries, Robert Half researchers identified 10 fields where pay overall is steady or rising, and starting salaries in 2010 will be more generous than average. They are:
1. Tax accountant. For tax accountants with two to three years of big-company experience, and a track record of achieving sizable tax savings, starting salaries average $46,500 to $61,500.

I think the biggest raises in '10 will be for jobs/skills that are in high demand. It's not a surprise that tax accountants are at the top of the list. With the current budget crunch that many firms are dealing with, getting their finances in order as they relate to taxes is vital.
Accountants with the talent for detail and enough experience should find themselves in the best position for a pay raise. Saving companies money by identifying valuable deductions and tax breaks is what many firms will be looking for when deciding on an accounting firm for their business.
