Senate Holds Hearing Today on Tax Rebates

The Senate Finance Committee holds the second of a two-part hearing today on Strengthening America’s Economy: Stimulus That Makes Sense.  The witnesses scheduled to testify are:

  • Martin Feldstein, Baker Professor of Economics, Harvard University; President and CEO, National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)
  • Jason Furman, Director, The Hamilton Project

The hearing takes place at 10:00 a.m. in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.  In connection with the hearing, the Joint Committee on Taxation has released Overview of Past Tax Legislation Providing Fiscal Stimulus and Issues in Designing and Delivering a Cash Rebate to Individuals (JCX-4-08).
