Tax Exempt status is such a tradition
that most forget to question the
basis upon which it is granted,
and fail to view tax exempt status
within the purview of the Constitution.
The exclusion or condemnation of
homosexuals or the subordination of women,
both critical fundamentals of religion,
are both inconsistent with Constitutional
mandates, which thereby amounts
to nontax status as a reward for
perpetuating those views and standards.
Tax exempt status, as such,
rewards organizations for that
discrimination, and inconsistentcy
with the Constitution.
This is an issue that badly needs
reveiw under present schemes for
granting tax exempt status, or
acknowledging that already granted.
