- These Law Prof Blog Traffic Rankings are drawn from Dan Solove's Law Professor Blogger Census, as updated by Colin Miller's Legal Educator Blog Census. They include all blogs edited by law professors -- both law-related and non law-related.
- Please email me the names of any Law Prof Blogs with traffic over the past twelve months that would qualify for inclusion on the lists (188,614 page views and/or 125,952 visitors). If necessary, I will re-publish the list to include all qualifying blogs.
- Several popular Law Prof Blogs do not have publicly available SiteMeters and thus are not included on the list: e.g., California Appellate Report, Credit Slips, The Deal Professor, Dorf on Law, Feminist Law Professors, InstaPundit, Legal Theory, Point of Law, ProfessorBainbridge.com, Volokh Conspiracy.
- These rankings cover only those blogs edited by law professors. Other law-related blogs edited by practitioners, librarians, non-law school academics, and journalists are not included on this list: e.g., Above the Law, How Appealing, Law Librarian Blog, Wall Street Journal Law Blog.
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise, by both page views and visitors, two of the Top 10 and nine of the Top 35 blogs.

- These Law Prof Blog Rankings are drawn from Dan Solove's Law Professor Blogger Census, as updated by Colin Miller's Legal Educator Blog Census. They include all blogs edited by law professors -- both law-related and non law-related.
- Please email me the names of any Law Prof Blogs with traffic over the past twelve months that would qualify for inclusion on the lists (204,466 page views and/or 143,208 visitors). If necessary, I will re-publish the list to include all qualifying blogs.
- Several popular Law Prof Blogs do not have publicly available SiteMeters and thus are not included on the list: e.g., California Appellate Report, Credit Slips, The Deal Professor, Dorf on Law, Feminist Law Professors, InstaPundit, Legal Theory, Point of Law, Volokh Conspiracy.
- These rankings cover only those blogs edited by law professors. Other law-related blogs edited by practitioners, librarians, non-law school academics, and journalists are not included on this list: e.g., Above the Law, How Appealing, Law Librarian Blog, Wall Street Journal Law Blog.
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise, by both page views and visitors, two of the Top 10, three of the Top 25, and nine of the Top 35 blogs.

- These Law Prof Blog Rankings are drawn from Dan Solove's Law Professor Blogger Census, as updated by Colin Miller' Legal Educator Blog Census. They include all blogs edited by law professors -- both law-related and non law-related.
- Please email me the names of any Law Prof Blogs with traffic over the past twelve months that would qualify for inclusion on the lists (225,025 page views and/or 148,569 visitors). If necessary, I will re-publish the list to include all qualifying blogs.
- Several popular Law Prof Blogs do not have publicly available SiteMeters and thus are not included on the list: e.g., California Appellate Report, Credit Slips, The Deal Professor, Dorf on Law, Feminist Law Professors, InstaPundit, Legal Theory, Point of Law, ProfessorBainbridge.com.
- These rankings cover only those blogs edited by law professors. Other law-related blogs edited by practitioners, librarians, non-law school academics, and journalists are not included on this list: e.g., Above the Law, How Appealing, Law Librarian Blog, Wall Street Journal Law Blog.
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise, by page views, two of the Top 10, four of the Top 25, and nine of the Top 35 blogs; and by visitors, two of the Top 10, five of the Top 25, and ten of the Top 35 blogs.

The biggest change from the prior 12-month rankings is that InstaPundit no longer has a publicly available SiteMeter and thus is no longer included in these rankings. In absolute terms, the Top 35 blogs cumulative traffic (page views and visitors) is flat over the past 12 months.
- These Law Prof Blog Rankings are drawn from Dan Solove's Law Professor Blogger Census, as updated by Colin Miller' Legal Educator Blog Census. They include all blogs edited by law professors -- both law-related and non law-related.
- Please email me the names of any Law Prof Blogs with traffic over the past twelve months that would qualify for inclusion on the lists (174,964 page views and/or 122,290 visitors).
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise, by page views, two of the Top 10, four of the Top 20, and eleven of the Top 35 blogs; and by visitors, two of the Top 10, five of the Top 20, and eleven of the Top 35 blogs.

The "Stickiest" Law Prof Blogs
Following up on yesterday's post, Law Prof Blog Rankings: as others have pointed out, raw traffic numbers (visitors and page views) are only one of the measures of the influence of blogs. "Stickiness' -- the amount of time readers spend on a blog -- also is an important metric. Unfortunately, the SiteMeter measure -- Average Visit Length -- is problematic for at least two reasons. First, it computes the average only for the most recent week. Second, it begins counting the visit length only when a reader goes to a second page; if a reader stays on a single page, the visit is given a 0 visit length (no matter how long the reader lingers on that page). From what I am told, Alexa uses a more sophisticated aproach in computing its Time on Site metric, which it measures over rolling weekly, monthly, and three-month periods. Here are the three-month Time on Site data for the 25 of the Top 35 Law Prof blogs by traffic as measured by Alexa:
Blog Time on Site Traffic Rank 1 4.19 2 2 3.90 10 3 3.39 26 4 2.63 8 5 2.38 21 6 2.15 3 7 2.00 9 8 1.95 7 9 1.78 4 10 1.76 13 11 1.66 14 12 1.65 6 13 1.55 16 14 1.48 19 15 1.47 17 16 1.44 28 17 1.41 11 18 1.39 5 19 1.32 23 20 1.31 12 21 1.31 15 22 1.15 34 23 1.01 24 24 0.77 27 25 0.36 1

- These Law Prof Blog Rankings are drawn from Dan Solove's Law Professor Blogger Census, as updated by Colin Miller' Legal Educator Blog Census. They include all blogs edited by law professors -- both law-related and non law-related.
- Please email me the names of any Law Prof Blogs with traffic over the past twelve months that would qualify for inclusion on the lists (217,741 page views and/or 152,581 visitors). If necessary, I will re-publish the list to include all qualifying blogs.
- Several popular Law Prof Blogs do not have publicly available SiteMeters and thus are not included on the list: e.g., BlackProf, California Appellate Report, Credit Slips, The Deal Professor, Dorf on Law, Feminist Law Professors, Legal Theory, Point of Law, ProfessorBainbridge.com.
- These rankings cover only those blogs edited by law professors. Other law-related blogs edited by practitioners, librarians, non-law school academics, and journalists are not included on this list: e.g., Above the Law, How Appealing, Law Librarian Blog, Wall Street Journal Law Blog.
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise, by page views, two of the Top 10, four of the Top 20, and ten of the Top 35 blogs; and by visitors, two of the Top 10, three of the Top 20, and ten of the Top 35 blogs.
- Members of our Law Professor Blogs Network comprise four of the ten fastest growing Law Prof Blog.
