Savannah Now, SCAD Sets Plan for Savannah Law School Building:

The Savannah College of Art and Design has purchased the former Savannah Law School Building and will rename it.

The building at 516 Drayton St. was sold for $27.5 million. Documents obtained from the Georgia Superior Court Clerks’ Cooperative Authority show that SCAD purchased the building from Atlanta-based John Marshall Law School, effective May 25. ...

John Marshall Law School purchased the building in 2012 and officially opened the law school in 2014. In March, the law school’s board of directors abruptly announced plans to close following the 2018 spring semester.

According to a statement released earlier this year by the law school’s board of directors, the decision to close the school was prompted by a small student enrollment at the branch that followed a national decline in opportunities for legal employment.
