2014-15 SALT Survey Of Law Professor Salaries

SALTThe Society of American Law Teachers has released its 2014-15 Law Professor Salary Survey (June 2015).  82 law schools responded to the survey with data on median base salaries for three faculty ranks (assistant professor, pre-tenure associate professor, and tenured professor (both associate and full)) and median summer stipends.  Here are the data for the 11 Top 60 law schools that responded to the survey:

Schools were instructed not to include in the base salary medians any fringe benefits (e.g., health care benefits, retirement benefits, dependents’ tuition benefits, domestic partner benefits, travel funding, book allowance, research assistant funding, or summer research and teaching stipends), and to report on the salaries only of tenure-track professors, not of deans or administrators. Summer stipend information was requested separately, as a single median for all faculty ranks.

I'm surprised the two Ohio schools are higher than the two California schools, considering the massive difference in cost of living.

For comparison: Indiana U. econ dept. untenured salaries average about $115,000. https://fdrs.fms.indiana.edu/cgi-bin/Salary/Salary.pl/main.html
