John Oliver on Income and Wealth Inequality

There is a great discussion of the estate tax beginning at 7:20.  (Click on YouTube button on bottom right to view video directly on YouTube to avoid interruption caused by blog's refresh rate.)

The debate on estate tax is an issue of principle, as the floor at which taxes begin can be lowered to cover more families or frozen while waiting for inflation to drive other families into it. (AMT, anyone?) Arguing who can afford it is not an argument. ... And, wealth isn't a lottery for the "more fortunate." Wealth was earned with hard work, innovation, and risk...and, was previously taxed and, maybe, taxed twice. ... This video shows why there are so many uneducated voters. They take their news from comedians.
