If I buy from Amazon, does that mean I'm taking sides in its contract dispute with Hachette? Coincidentally, the CEO of Hachette, Michael Pietsch, was editor for the works of the late David Foster Wallace, author of the classic novel about life at IRS, "The Pale King."
