Dorothy Brown has been named Vice Provost for Academic Affairs at Emory University:
The Vice Provost for Academic Affairs manages efforts around tenure and promotion processes and practice as well as faculty recruitment and retention. She oversees the Center for Faculty Development and Excellence (CFDE) and coordinates the Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC), which works with deans and faculty on ways to continue to enhance faculty careers. She also provides senior staffing to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Emory Board of Trustees and collaborates with the University Faculty Council and University Senate. The office serves as Emory’s liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), including the Compliance and Quality Enhancement Plan, which at Emory focuses on the nature of evidence.
