Diana Wollman Leaves Sullivan & Cromwell to be IRS Director of International Strategy

I am very pleased to announce the selection of Diana Wollman to be our Director, International Strategy reporting to Mike Danilack, Deputy Commissioner (International). Ms. Wollman will be joining us on September 16, 2013.

As you know, enhancing our international strategy is one of the Service’s top priorities. As the Director, International Strategy, Diana will serve as the principal advisor to the Deputy Commissioner (International) on a wide range of high-level and sensitive international issues and will oversee the development and implementation of all aspects of our international strategic program, including risk assessment, data management, trend analysis, training, and knowledge management capabilities. Diana will also assist in developing and maintaining key contacts outside the Service.

Diana brings to IRS and LB&I, considerable expertise and leadership experience. She comes to us from Sullivan & Cromwell, where she has been a partner in that firm’s New York office for the past 13 years. Diana has specialized in the tax aspects of complex international transactions, managing tax audits and controversies, and handling clients’ other interactions with tax authorities. She is currently the Chair of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section and previously she was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University School of Law. She earned a bachelor’s degree at Harvard University and a law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
