SpidermanSpider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Offers Tax Season Ticket Giveaway for Certified Public Accountants:

The high-flying Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark will celebrate tax season with a special post-tax day ticket giveaway for certified public accountants for the 7:30 PM performance on April 16.

The first 50 certified public accountants to appear with proof of their certification will receive a complimentary pair of tickets for that performance. All eligible CPAs must be lined up, with certification in hand, on 42nd Street in front of the Foxwoods Theatre at 10 AM on April 16.

Great, the CPA, after working long hours and meeting last night's tax deadline, has to be in line in NYC by 10:00 AM for a 7:30 PM performance. They aren't going to get many CPAs who prepare taxes or have anything better to do than stand around all day. Now, free t-shirts -- that's different.

Only a small percentage of CPAs specialize in tax. An even smaller percentage specialize in the area of 1040s. It doesn't make sense that they would associate CPAs with April 15. Most 1040s are prepared by enrolled agents at best, and more sophisticated returns are extended anyway.
