Has anyone undertaken an academic exploration of how much the average American taxpayer overpays his or her taxes? I'm talking things like missed deductions, unclaimed investment losses, lost donation receipts, etc. My company has done some back-of-the-envelope exploration on the topic, but are looking to partner with a researcher to get deeper. Check out goodapril.com and contact founders@goodapril.com if interested.
