The Director of Boston University School of Law’s Graduate Tax Program is responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of the GTP. ... The position’s main responsibilities include creating and executing the program’s strategic plan; overseeing the program’s teaching faculty and curriculum; counseling students on academic and professional development issues; developing and implementing an effective marketing and outreach plan to support enrollment goals; managing all aspects of admissions; and cultivating relationships with alumni, law professors and law schools, law firms, accounting firms, tax consulting firms and other entities to attract qualified students and to develop placement opportunities for graduates. Candidates should be thoughtful risk-takers with creative entrepreneurial and marketing instinct to grow the GTP, with a particular focus on the program’s new online option. They must also have a keen interest in working with students. While the Director position is a full-time administrative one, the Director has the opportunity to teach in the GTP and/or BU Law’s J.D. program. Ernest M. Haddad, Associate Dean for Special Projects, has been appointed Interim Director of the GTP. Dean Haddad served as the Director of the GTP from 2002-2008, while he was Associate Dean for Graduate Programs.
