This just in . . . Thomas Cooley School of Law ("TCSOL") sues Google and John and Jane Does who ran Google searches for not ranking their school higher, which the school believes is nothing short of defamation, the intentional infliction of emotional distress, and polygamy. The lawsuit is being brought by "graduates" of TCSOL, which will be their first paying legal job since graduating some time ago.

Okay, this post is kind of mean, but it is intended as a JOKE. Thus, I'm hoping TCSOL does not sue me.

This is not a ranking of law schools. It is a ranking of law school homepages, i.e., how many hits do they get, who links to them, the usual Google factors. Not a bad index of the visibility of the page, but it has nothing to do with the underlying school.

Just did a little tinkering with the search. The search does not include "law center". If you add that to list, then schools such as LSU Law Center and University of Houston Law Center rise dramatically in the ranks.

@Ed Richards: Yep, I definitely got that. Not sure how you assumed otherwise. Are you a Cooley grad?
