Ways & Means Committee Approves Energy and Tax Extenders Act

The House Ways & Means Committee voted 25-12 today to approve The Energy and Tax Extenders Act of 2008 (H.R. 6049) and send the bill to the House floor.

It's about time. I'm tired of telling clients, "well, that credit/deduction hasn't been renewed for 2008, but we're pretty sure it will be." Then, "no, I'm not sure when we will know. Last year the extensions were dragged out until December."

Guess I have some reading to do, too. At least it's now and not when I'm putting together CPE tax update presentations...
