Jeter Settles NY Tax Dispute
I previously blogged (here and here) Yankee star Derek Jeter's dispute with New York tax authorities over whether he was a New York or Florida resident during 2001-03. Press reports indicate that Jeter has settled the matter but do not reveal any details of the settlement:
- Associated Press: Jeter Settles Tax Case
- New York Daily News: Derek Jeter Swings Deal With N.Y. State on Unpaid Taxes
- New York Times: Jeter Is Said to Have Settled Tax Inquiry
- Web CPA: Jeter Settles Tax Flap
As usual, the Daily News had the most colorful opening: "Derek Jeter has romanced Mariah Carey, squired Jessica Biel, sweet-talked Scarlett Johansson -- and now he's made it to first base with the state taxman."
