The Future of Reputation: Gossip, Rumor, and Privacy on the Internet
Daniel J. Solove (George Washington) has published The Future of Reputation: Gossip, Rumor, and Privacy on the Internet (Yale University Press, 2007):
Focusing on blogs, Internet communities, cyber mobs, and other current trends, I argue that unless we establish a balance between privacy and free speech, we may discover that the freedom of the Internet makes us less free.
The book explores some of the issues that Dan raised in his paper for our symposium on Bloggership: How Blogs Are Transforming Legal Scholarship (Harvard Law School, 4/28/06): A Tale of Two Bloggers: Free Speech and Privacy in the Blogosphere, 84 Wash. U. L. Rev. ___ (2006).
The tax connection? Dan writes: "if the book sells well due to blogosphere mentions, I’ll happily be paying more tax on the royalties."
