L.A. Times on Supreme Court Bobbleheads

Rehnquist_1Interesting article in today's L.A. Times on the bobbleheads of Supreme Court Justices issued by the Green Bag to its subscribers (previously blogged here and here):  Bobblehead Justices Help Journal Promote the Lighter Side of Law, by Heather Gehlert.  Among the fascinating tidbits in the article:

  • Washington, D.C. attorney David Wolfe paid $2,100 on eBay for former Chief Justice Rehnquist's bobblehead to round out his collection of five bobbleheads (the others are of Justices Kennedy, Scalia, O'Connor, and Stevens)
  • The Green Bag issues one bobblehead per year, in order of seniority -- the next bobblehead will be of Justice Souter
  • The bobbleheads have been incredibly successful for the Green Bag's -- they cost only $5, and have increased subscriptions from 700 in 2003 to over 1,500 today
