Gay Tax Protest

Charles Merrill and his same-sex partner Kevin Boyle have launched a Gay Tax Protest, refusing to pay federal income tax because they cannot have the same tax benefits as other married couples.  They have launched a web site (www.gaytax.org) after being featured on Page Six of the February 18 New York Post (Wall St. Scion in Tax Protest).  For more information, see:

These people are going about it the wrong way. At a minimum, they should be either paying their tax and suing for a refund, or paying whatever tax would be due (which would be something) and then litigating at the Tax Court. Acting like Tax protestors will not only result in a waiver of whatever arguments they do have, but also criminal charges, and will minimize an important constitutional argument.

I agree completely with the gay tax protest!

Why should anyone be expected to pay taxes in a country where they are not legally recognized by their own Government as equal citizens?

We have the President stating that gays do not deserve equal rights - while he obvisoulsy has no issue using tax money paid by gays to give his buddies tax breaks. Unreal.

Since the top 5% of the wealthiest folks
in the Nation have figured a way to rape &
pillage the rest of us. Therefore we (gay
straight whatever) should figure a way to
not let them get away with it. The money is & will always be the way to get rich folks to
pay attention no pun! No need no greed! Our
tax code is leverage for all rich folk period.
However the first post the guy is correct!
Pay then sue! Keep the fight against the
traitors in the Whouse & Congress.

There has to be a better way for you to make your point.
Don't go to jail over it.
The IRS is not an american entity, they're not about fairness.
