Today's New York Post has an article on James Colliton, the 42-year old former Cravath tax lawyer and married father of five who is in jail on teenage rape and prostitution charges: "Pervert" Attorney Is Broke:
Alleged Lolita-loving lawyer James Colliton used to make $500,000 a year as a tax-law expert at the prestigious firm of Cravath, Swaine and Moore. But now that he's been fired and imprisoned on charges he paid two teen sisters for sex, he's suffering serious cash-flow problems, his lawyer said yesterday. "There's an issue of whether he will be able to retain counsel," the lawyer, Alan Abramson, told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon. "He has to evaluate his resources and then make a decision about what he is able to do."
Abramson declined to reveal any further financial details, but sources allege Colliton was splurging thousands of dollars a month on jewelry, cash and other gifts over the past six years for his underage "harem" who would visit him weeknights in his apartment on East 56th Street.
