Tracking and Valuing Noncash Charitable Donations with Free Software
The Tax Guru has a nice summary of the tools available to document and value noncash items like clothing and furniture donated to charity:
- WAGs (Wild A** Guesses)
- Donation Guides (e.g., BankRate.com, Children's Home, Goodwill, Salvation Army)
- It’s Deductible (from Intuit, publisher of the popular the TurboTax tax preparation software)
- DeductionPro (from H&R Block, publisher of the popular TaxCut tax preparation software)
The Tax Guru also provides a link on how to download a free copy of DeductionPro.
