Barthold Named Acting Chief of Staff of Joint Tax Committee

Blue_book_19Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) Chairman Bill Thomas (R-CA) and Vice-Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) announced late Friday that Thomas Barthold, the current Deputy Chief of Staff for JCT, will be named Acting Chief of Staff, effective immediately upon George Yin’s departure.  From the press release:

“Congress has a number of important tax issues before it. Mr. Barthold has worked on these issues at JCT since 1987; his experience will allow for a smooth transition during this time,” said Thomas.

“The work of the Joint Committee on Taxation never stops, even when there isn’t a major tax bill advancing through Congress. It’s important to continue good leadership at Joint Tax without interruption until a permanent replacement is chosen,” said Grassley.
