Slate 60: Largest Charitable Contributions for 2004
Slate lists the 60 largest American charitable contributions for 2004 (data from the Chronicle of Philanthropy). The Top 5:
- William H. (Bill) III and Melinda F. Gates: $3.4 billion
- Susan T. Buffett: $2.6 billion
- John M. Templeton: $550 million
- Caroline Wiess Law: $450 million
- George D. Cornell: $196 million
